PLASTIC CEMENT

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

DISSCO 560 Plastic Cement is an asphalt base, bituminous cement of medium trowel consistency, manufactured from soft, durable asphalts blended with industrial grade solvents and combined with selected asbestos fibers and mineral fillers. Its formulation includes additives which make the DISSCO 560 Plastic Cement uniform in consistency, moisture-repellent and workable without pulling or drawing. DISSCO 560 Plastic Cement sets up to form a tough, continuous moisture-proof film while retaining its pliability for many years. This enables it to expand and contract with changes in temperature and to conform to movements in other materials.

DISSCO 560 Plastic Cement is a professional grade plastic cement for the application of bituminous flashings on all asphalt built-up roofs. It can also be used as a cold-applied waterproofing cement for patching chimneys, flagpoles, vent pipes, skylites, gutters, flashing, and for filling expansion and other joints in concrete or brick. Its excellent bonding quality makes it ideal for use as well against metal, glass, stone, or virtually any clean dry surface. It will set up without pulling away from joints or cracks and will not bleed, blister or sag.

DISSCO 560 Plastic Cement is also an excellent all-purpose cement and patching material for the waterproofing or dampproofing contractor. DISSCO 560 may be used as a patching compound for the sealing of concrete form ties prior to the application of dampproofing or waterproofing. When used with a reinforcing fabric or felt the DISSCO 560 will provide a waterproof seal when used for patching cold joints, wall perforations, honeycomb areas and many other areas where a below-grade waterproof seal is desired.

APPLICATION

DISSCO 560 is ready to use directly from the container, no thinning or heating required. Any surface to which DISSCO 560 Plastic Cement is applied should be clean, dry and free of any loose material, which would prevent adhesion. When applied to metal, no priming is necessary although care must be taken that the metal is free of any other coating or solvent base materials that may impair adhesion.

COVERAGE

Coverage will depend upon end use, but most applications on flat surfaces will require a continuous film of 1/16 inch average thickness. At this rate one gallon will cover approximately 25 to 30 square feet.

AVAILABILITY

DISSCO 560 is available in packaged sizes of 5-gallon pails only.

WILL NOT FREEZE, may be stored outdoors.
When temperature is below 60°F - store product indoors overnight prior to use.
Clean equipment with mineral spirits.

CAUTION

Contains mineral spirits. Do not use near fire or flame. Use with adequate ventilation. Vapor harmful. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin or breathing of vapor. Close container tightly after each use. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. If swallowed, DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Call physician immediately. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

DISSCO warrants its products to be free of defects in materials, but makes no warranty as to appearance or color. Since methods of application and on site conditions are beyond our control and can affect performance, DISSCO makes no other warranty, expressed or implied, including warranties of MERCHANTABILITY and FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, with respect to DISSCO coatings. DISSCO's sole obligation shall be, at its option, to replace, or to refund the purchase price of, the quantity of DISSCO coating proved to be defective and DISSCO shall not be liable for any loss or damage, including incidental or consequential damages, arising from the use of DISSCO coatings.
