DISSCO GrayLine DP is an environmentally friendly VOC compliant gray-pigmented elastomeric coating engineered specifically for below grade Foundation Dampproofing.

DISSCO GrayLine DP is manufactured using 100% virgin materials from technology derived from DISSCO’s experience obtained from 50 plus years of manufacturing quality coating systems for the waterproofing and roofing industries.

DISSCO GrayLine DP is designed to keep ground moisture from penetrating the foundation wall in the absence of a hydrostatic head. Providing moisture and corrosion protection that will help prevent moisture penetration of the foundation wall and help eliminate the moisture problems and the damp feeling common to most basements.

DISSCO GrayLine DP may be applied to green concrete foundations and will adhere to almost any type of material such as concrete, masonry block, wood, steel, etc.

DISSCO GrayLine DP may be applied as a one or two coat application, by brush, roller or sprayed with adequate airless equipment. It is recommended that the DISSCO GrayLine DP be spray applied onto below grade concrete and masonry structures so that a proper coverage can be achieved. An application by spraying causes the coating to be forced into the porous surface characteristic of concrete forming and masonry block. It is recommended that masonry block be parged (cement grouted) prior to dampproofing so that a better seal may be achieved. Spray equipment should maintain at least 800 psi at the spray tip to achieve proper penetration of the surface being dampproofed.

Recommended Application Rates And Precautions For Below Grade Foundation Dampproofing

DISSCO GrayLine DP is ready to use directly from the container, no thinning or heating required. Surface to be dampproofed is to be clean and dry. May be applied to green concrete. DO NOT apply when raining or when rain is imminent. All wall form ties must be removed prior to application of dampproofing. Deep cone form ties must be cement grouted prior to dampproofing. It is recommended that masonry block be parged (cement grouted) prior to application of GrayLine DP. It is recommended that any honeycomb areas, cold joints and/or any structural defects or perforations to the wall be repaired with cement grout or a compatible repair material prior to application of GrayLine DP. It is recommended that the ambient air temperature and surface temperature to be dampproofed should be at least 32°F and rising.

One Coat Application

It is recommended that a one-coat application of DISSCO GrayLine DP be applied at a rate of 1 to 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet of area with a dry film thickness of approximately 12 mils.

Gallons per 100 sq. ft. 1 to 1.4
Finished dry film thickness 10 mils
Cure time 12 hrs

Two Coat Application

For a two coat application it is recommended that each coat be applied at a rate of .8 to 1.2 gallons per 100 square feet of area with a finished dry film thickness of not less then 18 mils. The first coat should be allowed to dry for at least one hour before the second coat is applied.

Gallons per coat per 100 sq. ft. .8 to 1.2
Finished dry film thickness 18 mils
Drying time between coats 1 hrs
Cure time 12 hrs

Application Equipment

DISSCO GrayLine DP was specifically designed to be spray applied. However GrayLine DP may be hand applied by brush or roller. For spray application a positive displacement airless sprayer that produces 3000 psi with a delivery rate of 2.0 gallons per minute is recommended. Use of a pressure rated 30-mesh strainer is also recommended. GrayLine DP may be applied with lower pressure and delivery rate positive displacement airless sprayers however smaller tip sizes will be required and the time to apply will be longer.

Spray tips should be of a heavy-duty reverse-a-clean type with an orifice size of .031 to .041 and a 6 to 10 inch fan width at 12 inches from the wall is recommended for the best results. Spray guns or wands should utilize a contractor grade trigger gun or a contractor grade inline valve with a heavy-duty pole extension. DISSCO recommends a total pole gun length of 4 to 8 foot to help facilitate timely application.

Hose should be a pressure rated airless spray type hose, of 3/8-inch size with a plastic liner in a continuous length sufficient enough that will allow the applicator to reach reasonably far enough around a job without having to move or unload the equipment off the transport vehicle. A pressure rated swivel adaptor located between the gun valve and the hose is recommended to help prevent any twisting influence of the hose that may affect spray technique.

When preparing to spray DISSCO GrayLine DP, ensure the airless sprayer to be used has been thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with water prior to attempting to spray GrayLine DP so as to prevent any compatibility issues with other materials. Prime airless sprayer with water before attempting to siphon GrayLine DP into pump. GrayLine DP has been filtered at the factory therefore the use of a suction strainer is not required. However, use of a 30-mesh pressure rated inline strainer at the pump is recommended. No other filtration should be necessary.

Storage

DISSCO GrayLine DP may be stored in any container that is designed for storage or transport of water based products with a density greater than 1.2. DISSCO GrayLine DP WILL FREEZE, DO NOT store outdoors if freezing temperatures are expected. When outside ambient temperature is expected to fall below 40° Fahrenheit (4°C), store product indoors or in an environment that will prevent freezing. If in the event DISSCO GrayLine does inadvertently freeze. DISSCO GrayLine DP may be reconstituted with mild agitation upon complete thawing.
